Comprehensive TMJ/TMD Treatment

If you have constant or recurring popping of the jaw or if you find yourself grinding or clenching your teeth, you may be experiencing symptoms associated with Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMD). You may have heard this mentioned as TMJ before. TMJ stands for Temporomandibular Joint Disorder.

If you have pain in the muscles of your jaw, neck, face or shoulder areas, if you are dizzy, have ringing in the ears or frequent headaches or migraines, you may have TMD. These symptoms are referred to as craniofacial pains or disorders.
At the Imagine Family Dentistry/ Phillip C Hall DDS, all of the above-mentioned symptoms and more, are looked at, recorded, and analyzed to determine the right diagnosis and the source of your discomfort or pain. Once diagnosed, proper treatment is started or appropriate referrals are made to start you on the road to relief and healing.

About Our Extensive Dental Treatment

Many people with head and neck disorders or headaches are afraid that they will be unable to afford the expense of treatment. In the past very few insurers provided coverage. With the recent expansion of knowledge and treatment options, it is now easier to obtain insurance coverage.
Although dental insurance provides limited coverage, other types of coverage may be available. Since treatment approaches often involve medical procedures, insurance coverage for necessary craniofacial pain treatment is becoming more commonly obtained through health insurance.
It is important to note that every insurance provider is different. We recommend you check with your provider to explore your coverage and options.
Some treatments directed by Dr. Hall involve massage to the head and neck area or cranial sacral release techniques. A licensed massage therapist is a member of our staff.
The first step to proper treatment and relief is to arrive at a comprehensive diagnosis. Dr. Hall combines his experience and expertise with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and imaging to reach a diagnosis. When your diagnosis is complete he will recommend a comprehensive personalized treatment plan. Treatment varies greatly depending on the diagnosis.
